In over 15 years in the industry, I have yet to come across Bluetooth headphones offering all the bells and whistles I would want for DJing. That is until now, with the release of the new OneOdio Studio Max 1.
The OneOdio Studio Max 1 tackles one of the biggest problems with wireless DJ headphones: latency. These headphones offer ultra-low latency technology, impressive sound, and extreme versatility, giving them multi-purpose functionality.
I’ve reviewed dozens of headphones. Everything from budget offerings to the most premium high-end studio gear. Each set of headphones goes through our intense review process to see how it fits in an increasingly crowded market.
We combine our testing data with feedback from our extensive network, which includes avid enthusiasts and industry pros, to get the broadest possible range of opinions. With that said, let’s get into the details of what the OneOdio Studio Max 1 offers.

The OneOdio Studio Max 1 headphones offer a long list of features, making them one of the most versatile headphones I have ever encountered. So, let’s not waste any more time and get into the nitty-gritty.
Sound Quality
I’ve had the chance to review several OneOdio headphones. In each instance, they have always sounded much better than you would expect, especially considering the price point. That remains the case with the OneOdio Studio Max 1.
The low-end offers ample punch and depth without sounding muddy. I play a lot of bass-heavy music, and every track I tested delivered a satisfying listening experience. The well-defined punch was especially useful when DJing.
The all-important mid-range was also better than I had hoped, with everything from lush vocals to instrumental compositions offering clean and distinct tonality with excellent clarity and refinement.
A feature-rich option for DJs and Producers.
The top end was equally up to my high standards. As I’ve aged, my ears have become more sensitive to overt brightness in the top end, but the OneOdio Studio Max 1 offered crisp and clean highs without causing me any ear fatigue, even over long studio sessions.
Overall, the balance between the frequencies is also solid. While not as neutral as some headphones I’ve tested, these were also not overly unbalanced. They have a good blend of vibrancy while retaining authenticity, which works especially well for casual listening and DJing sessions.
Great sound backed up by extensive features.
I might be tempted to reach for a different pair of more analytical headphones in a pure studio setting. However, the OneOdio Studio Max 1 headphones were enough for most studio tasks.
The large 50mm drivers combine well with the built-in Hi-Res audio certifications and LDAC. Spatial positioning was also well-represented, with stadium-focused productions highlighted well in my listening tests. The OneOdio Studio Max 1 is an impressive set of headphones with excellent sound, especially at this price point.
Comfort
Long studio sessions or extended DJ practice sessions demand a high level of comfort, and the OneOdio Studio Max 1 performed very well in our comfort tests.
At first glance, the large ear cups and weight had me a little concerned, but once I used these over a long session, I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they were.
The ear cups offer ample padding and room for even the most prominent ears. The padding is also solid, with just the right amount of squish to adapt to your head shape. Even when testing with glasses, I found the fit comfortable.
Thick padding with plenty of squish.
The relatively relaxed clamping force helps maintain the elevated comfort level. You won’t feel like your head is locked in a vice, but they are also not overly loose to the point of slipping and sliding around. As I was testing these while DJing, I was able to dance and bop my head comfortably without feeling like these headphones would fall off.
The headband padding is also comfortable, with enough padding to ensure a relaxed fit that won’t dig into your scalp. Considering the headphones’ weight, comfortable headband padding is essential, and OneOdio has struck the perfect balance here.
Design
When it comes to design, there is a lot to cover. First, I’ll assess the headphones’ overall aesthetics, and then I’ll dive into the extensive list of features on offer.
From the outset, these headphones are large and bulky. They’re not the bulkiest headphones I’ve ever seen, but the ear cups are prominent due to the large 50mm drivers and thick padding. This is far from a deal breaker, but I could imagine some people preferring a set of more discreet cans.
The finish on the ear cups is a combination of matte black plastic and textured shiny black plastic. I’m not a huge supporter of glossy plastic since it is a fingerprint magnet. However, the textured finish alleviates this issue and gives the headphones extra personality. The all-black look extends throughout the rest of the design. The red stitching on the headphones helps break up the extensive use of black and adds to the overall aesthetic appeal.
An all black design with a durable plastic frame.
As for technical design, the OneOdio Studio Max 1 features a collapsible design with swiveling earcups. This is great for one-ear monitoring or more convenient transportation. The built-in audio technology is fantastic, as I covered in the Sound section, but its wireless capabilities really set the OneOdio Studio Max 1 apart.
Bluetooth connectivity instantly makes these exceptionally versatile. The buttons’ placement and functionality are perfectly integrated into the right earcup, with distinct button sizes and textures allowing for easy operation.
However, the transmitter and Rapid Will+ low-latency capability included are real game changers. Wireless DJ headphones have always suffered from latency issues, which has often led me to recommend wired cans for DJing. That is no longer the case, thanks to this technology.
High output level and superb battery life.
Pairing with the transmitter and plugging it into my DJ gear presented a smooth and effortless experience with imperceptible latency. I was able to go through a full set with ease without any hiccups, and the mixing was super accurate without a cable in sight.
Battery life is also staggering. A whopping 120 hours means less charging and more time enjoying the headphones. Perfect for the long session DJ or, as is often the case personally, the DJ who forgets to charge his devices regularly.
The red stitching adds character to the Studio Max 1.
The transmitter also offers a long battery life. At 4 hours a day, this little gem of a device will last up to 10 to 15 days. Fast charging is also available, with 2.5 hours of use from just 5 minutes of charging.
If you prefer wired connections, the OneOdio Studio Max 1 also has short and long coiled cables. It’s a complete package that caters to every possible situation. Its sophisticated design and great sound are perfect for casual listening, and functional Bluetooth features are ideal for day-to-day use. The OneOdio Studio Max 1 also provides precise sound for studio sessions and the best wireless DJ headphone experience on the market.
Durability
The OneOdio Studio Max 1 offers solid construction despite its all-plastic exterior. The hinges feel up to the task, and the metal included in the headband is always a welcome sight.
When applying pressure to the headphones, there is not a hint of creaking, and I can foresee these holding up well in the long term. The padding appears equally durable, and the included cables and transmitter all offer a premium feel.
Good construction quality with excellent technology.
Assessing durability is always tricky, as I’ve only used these headphones for a couple of weeks. I intend to continue using them, so I’ll come back and update the review if I encounter any major issues. However, my initial impressions of longevity are good.
When you also factor in the aggressive price point, these headphones punch well above their weight in this area.
Value
While these are not the cheapest headphones, their value offering is outstanding. They are a premium set of cans with superior sound and a plethora of included accessories.
Access to two coiled cables, an adapter, and the all-important transmitter elevate this package beyond the competition in this price bracket. The included USB charging cable is a little short, but I can comfortably live with it.
An excellent range of included accessories.
The included pouch is also of decent quality, with a convenient zippered section to store the cables and transmitter. The cloth-textured design might not be the most glamorous, but it’s highly functional.
Every time I try to nitpick these headphones, I circle back to how much value they represent. It is extremely hard to be overly critical when you factor in the price point. I’ve tested and reviewed headphones double or triple the price of the OneOdio Max 1, and several of them perform worse, offer less flexibility, and, in some cases, offer worse build quality.
The OneOdio Studio Max 1 is a value-packed offering that is worth every bit of your hard-earned money.
Why Latency Matters
Low-latency sound is essential for DJing because timing is everything. Even a slight delay can throw everything off when mixing tracks, triggering samples, or using effects. Imagine hitting a cue and hearing it half a second later—that’s a total vibe killer!
The Studio Max 1 offer ultra-low latency for DJ sessions.
DJs rely on instant feedback to keep beats tight and transitions smooth. High latency can make mixing feel sluggish and messy, while low latency keeps everything crisp, responsive, and in sync. It ensures real-time control, letting DJs react quickly, execute complex techniques, and keep the crowd moving without missing a beat.
If you intend to use wireless DJ headphones, you’ll want to ensure they offer ultra-low latency technology like the OneOdio Studio Max 1.
Other Options
You’ll have a hard time finding headphones this versatile in this price bracket, but it’s still worth exploring some alternatives that might better suit your needs. Below is a quick snapshot of other headphones you might want to consider.

Audio-Technica ATH-M20xBT
If you are looking for a set of even cheaper Bluetooth headphones, the ATH-M20xBt from Audio-Technica is worth considering. While it offers far fewer features than the Studio Max 1, it is a budget-friendly choice.
- Punchy sound profile but is not as balanced as the Studio Max 1.
- The super low price point makes it a solid budget choice.
- Non-foldable design and a much lower battery length.

OneOdio continues to impress me with each new release, and the OneOdio Studio Max 1 is by far my favorite. The liberating feeling of DJing without a cable is hard to pass up. But it isn’t just the freedom I love. The low latency, polished sound, aggressive price point, and solid construction are all extra benefits.
